BCHR presents its Disaster Risk Reduction Experiences at COP28 in Dubai

BCHR is The presented its experience in disaster risk reduction in Yemen during a seminar held as part of the COP28 conference in Dubai.

In the seminar, Project Manager, Mr. Saleh Bamkhshab and Climate Unit Officer Mr. Rabee Bad'am provided an overview of the BCHR interventions in climate, in partnership with K.S.Relief and international organizations, including Early Warning Center in Mukalla, flood protection projects, modern agriculture, renewable energy, and disaster response training.

Ms. Maram Al-Nabhani, a member of the Arab Network for Sustainable Development, presented the experience of early warning systems in Sana'a, funded by the World Bank through UNESCO, and the potential for its replication in other areas.

The seminar, attended by social activist Maha Al-Badani, addressed the climate challenges facing Yemen, best practices for mitigating the impact of disasters, and future opportunities for climate adaptation in partnership with relevant entities and international organizations.

The seminar was attended by Faisal Al-Tha'albi, Head of the Environmental Protection Authority in Yemen, and consultant Fahmi bin Shibraq, in addition to several climate activists.
