Background

BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

The finance Assistant will be under the supervision of the Project Manager, and Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for ensuring sound financial management which includes performing project's overall financial tasks (reviewing payments' supporting documents, releasing payments, recording in the financial system, documentation and financial reporting).


III. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for organizing, scanning, uploading and filing all financial transactions in both soft and hard copy into accounting system and physical archive, ensuring quality and full adherence to BCHR’s policies and procedures.
• Assist and support finance team in providing documentation for audit purpose.
• Follow up to raise all the file-closed documents from operations and other departments to the finance Department on daily basis.
• Facilitate in in the tender opening process.
• Accurately classify each file/document stored with a reference in computer and in physical documents for tracing and easy access. Also, ensure to have reorganized finance archive according to the financial years at all times.
• Facilitating in receiving documents and obtaining the required signatures.
• Help in the semi-annual/annual asset and inventory physical count and any other counts instructed by finance management.
• Help with petty cash review and reimbursement, and process small payment requests.
• Ensure that all finance files are safely kept in the finance archive and Box ensuring no missing documents.
• Stamp all payment transactions along with supporting documents.
• Assist finance staff in the maintenance and organization of the financial documents
• Maintenance of the proper filing system for finance records and documents.
• Preparation of monthly exchange rate report to Treasury;
• Perform other duties related as assigned by the finance officer.

 IV. Qualifications and Requirements:

• Hold a BA degree in finance/ business administration, or any related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in the same field.
• Very good in English speaking/writing.
• Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Very good computer and communication skills.
• Well organized and commitment to the work.
• Understanding of data privacy standards; integrity; honesty.
• Demonstrated attention to details, ability to follow procedures, meets deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members.
