In December 2024, BCHR participated in the 16th Conference of the Parties (COP16) to Combat Desertification in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, alongside 197 signatory countries of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD).

Represented by Eng. Ahmed Bin Hamil, Director of Partnerships and Grants, the coalition showcased its efforts in combating desertification through land reclamation projects, greenhouses, water source rehabilitation, and the introduction of modern technologies such as hydroponic farming.

The conference aims to mobilize resources to restore millions of hectares of degraded land, mitigate drought, and accelerate progress in sustainable land management.
