Job Summary:
The Social Worker will provide support to beneficiaries and facilitate community engagement activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Psychosocial Support: Provide psychological support and implement activities that promote the social and emotional development of school children, utilizing fun and engaging methods through recreational and educational lessons.
• Activity Planning and Implementation: Develop and execute weekly, monthly, and annual plans for activities that cater to the diverse needs of the children, ensuring they are completed within the designated timeframes.
• Age-Appropriate Programming: Design and implement activities tailored to various age groups, actively listening to children's preferences while teaching essential life skills.
• Vulnerability Identification: Identify the most vulnerable children, including those with special needs, and facilitate their integration into appropriate support services within the school environment.
• Inclusive Participation: Ensure all children, particularly those requiring additional support, such as those with disabilities, are actively involved in program activities.
• Behavioral Monitoring and Support: Assess and monitor children's behavior during activities, addressing any challenges they face and communicating relevant issues to the appropriate authorities.
• Service Improvement Initiatives: Propose new ideas and strategies that enhance the quality of services provided to children within the program.
• Intervention Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of individual intervention plans for children, providing recommendations to the program manager based on observed needs.
• Field Assessments: Conduct regular field visits to evaluate the status of children and the effectiveness of interventions, ensuring that comprehensive support is provided.
• Family Engagement: Organize and facilitate family counseling sessions for parents, fostering a supportive environment for both children and their families.
• Child Case Management: Maintain a detailed file for each child that documents interventions, progress, and any relevant observations made during program participation.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and submit reports to the program manager, archiving all relevant documentation in each child’s file to track their development and challenges faced.
• Statistical Analysis: Compile statistical reports on the number of children served, the issues encountered, and analyze the underlying causes of these challenges to inform future programming.
• Adolescent Programs: Implement educational programs aimed at enhancing self-confidence in adolescent children, equipping them with new skills and behaviors they wish to learn.
• Play Therapy: Utilize play therapy techniques as both a diagnostic and therapeutic approach for younger children, helping to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
• Diverse Activity Facilitation: Organize and lead a variety of educational, recreational, and developmental activities suitable for children’s ages and specific needs.
• Positive Reinforcement: Provide simple reinforcement lessons to encourage positive behavior and support children’s learning objectives.
• Additional Tasks: Perform any other duties as assigned by the program manager to ensure the success of the school feeding program and the well-being of the children served.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• A degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
• Experience in community work or social services is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic.
