Under the patronage of Major General Sultan Al-Aradah, Presidential Leadership Council member and Governor of Marib, Deputy Governor of
Marib, Dr. Abdulrabuh Miftah, inaugurated the Rehabilitation and Re-equipment project of the Office of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries in the governorate.
The project is supported by SIERY project, funded by the EUinYemen and implemented by UNDP, in partnership with BCHR.
The project is one of the local authority’s development priorities and aims to enable the Office of Agriculture to reclaim its developmental role and deliver essential services more effectively.
At the opening, Dr. Abdulrabuh Miftah, Deputy Governor of Marib, praised the leading role of SIERY project in supporting the governorate’s development plans and enhancing institutional and economic resilience across various sectors.
Mr. Basem Al-Saqeer, SIERY’s National Coordinator, stated that the project aims to help local authorities regain their role and restore essential public services.
Eng. Ali Baheibeh, Head of Office of Agriculture, emphasized the project’s importance in advancing the agricultural sector in Marib through improved organization of production and marketing, and by restoring the office’s technical and advisory functions.
