About the job:

Under the supervision of the Project logistic assistant, the storekeeper will be responsible for receiving the materials inside the warehouse, receiving them from the supplier, following up on their loading, and sending them to the FDPs sites.

 
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide 24-hour security coverage at food distribution points (FDPs) and warehouses
• Monitor and control access to FDPs and warehouses to ensure only authorized personnel and beneficiaries enter
• Dedication to safeguarding the warehouse is ensured from the moment the materials are received until the distribution process is concluded.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections to maintain a safe and secure environment
• Respond promptly to any security incidents or emergencies and report them to the supervisors
• Assist in maintaining order and crowd control during food distribution activities
• Collaborate with local law enforcement authorities as needed
• Ensure all security equipment and systems are functioning properly
• Maintain detailed security logs and incident reports

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a security guard or in a similar role
• Prior experience working in humanitarian aid, disaster response, or food distribution programs preferred
• Familiarity with security protocols and emergency response procedures
• Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and security best practices
Technical Competencies:
• Proficient in use of security equipment
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively to security incidents and emergencies
• Strong observation and reporting skills to identify and document security-related issues
• Basic first aid and emergency response skills
• Good physical fitness and stamina to perform regular patrols and crowd control duties
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with beneficiaries, staff, and authorities
• Willingness to work in challenging environments and irregular hours as required
