KSrelief Launches Distribution of Modern Agricultural Equipment to Support Farmers in Five Governorates

2025-10-23

This Tuesday in Hadhramaut, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched the distribution of various agricultural packages and equipment as part of the Sustainable Agriculture and Agricultural & Fisheries Empowerment Project. The project aimed at enhancing resilience in Yemen, implemented through BCHR.

The project also seeks to increase farmers’ productivity and improve agricultural efficiency by introducing modern mechanization technologies in the fields. These innovations are designed to facilitate plowing and harvesting operations, while reducing costs, time, and effort.

The intervention includes the delivery of 55 agricultural machines, such as hand tractors, crop threshers, sprayers, and lawn mowers. These will be distributed through the Agriculture Offices in Hadramout, Shabwah, Marib, Socotra, and Al-Mahrah Governorates, following an organized mechanism. The program also features farmer training sessions on the proper use and maintenance of the machines, as well as a scheduling system to ensure fair allocation among small farmers based on need. It also included provision of the necessary fuel for their operation to ensure optimal utilization.

During the opening ceremony, Eng. Amin Barziq, Deputy Governor of Hadramout for Technical Affairs, stated that this support represents a qualitative addition to the agricultural sector in the governorate. He noted that the use of modern mechanized tools will significantly ease farming and harvesting operations, saving time, effort, and cost—ultimately improving the livelihoods of farmers and their families. Eng. Barziq expressed his sincere appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by its humanitarian arm, KSrelief, for this valuable support that will help alleviate farmers’ burdens and increase their productivity.

KSrelief continues to implement various projects and programs across Yemeni governorates in support of the agriculture, fisheries, and sustainable development sectors, aiming to strengthen food security and improve livelihoods in Yemen.

The ceremony was attended by Abdulaziz Ba Wazir, Supervisor of the KSrelief Coordination Unit in the governorate; Eng. Fahmi bin Mansour, CEO at BCHR; and Eng. Fahmi Rowaishid, Representative of the Agriculture and Irrigation Office in Coastal Hadramout.
