Background
BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
1- Coordination, Supervision, and Management:
- Coordinate, lead, and conduct all field-level activities under the Marib office.
- Maintain robust coordination and communication with the WFP Marib Field Office to align field-level food security activities, exchange information, foster a close partnership, and serve as a key liaison to optimize the overall food assistance distribution response.
- Supervise and manage the staff under the Marib office, ensuring efficient and effective implementation.
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of all field activities, providing regular progress updates and technical inputs.
2- Food Assistance Distributions:
- Coordinate and supervise the distribution of food assistance in the field, ensuring adherence to agreed criteria and guidelines.
- Produce comprehensive reports on needs assessments and distribution activities.
3- Activity Planning and Design:
- Prepare detailed activity implementation plans for all assigned project components.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to the Project Manager for the design and refinement of field-based activities.
4- Reporting and Feedback:
- Provide regular reports and feedback on the status, progress, and effectiveness of field activities to the Project Manager.
- Manage the implementation of all field activities in alignment with the overall project plan, goals, and objectives.
5- Capacity Building and Training:
- Plan and oversee the delivery of trainings, awareness sessions, and other capacity-building initiatives for field staff and community stakeholders.
6- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Ensure liaison with local communities, authorities, and other relevant stakeholders, maintaining positive relationships and facilitating effective collaboration.
- Undertake community mobilization efforts, including the establishment of community committees and coordination with local authorities.
7- Field-level Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a monthly action plan to guide the execution of all field-level responsibilities.
- Directly supervise and be responsible for the technical aspects of food distribution activities, ensuring timely and organized implementation.
- Lead the field team, fostering a safe and productive work environment, and providing guidance on all project-related matters.
- Prepare comprehensive reports on field activities, challenges encountered, and recommended actions, submitting these to management on a regular basis.
- Closely collaborate with district coordinators, consolidating their reports into a final weekly and monthly report for management review.
8- Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Actively participate in monitoring and evaluation activities, including baseline and endline assessments, as well as distribution and post-distribution monitoring.
- Conduct frequent field visits to supervise activities, gather firsthand information, and provide on-site guidance and support.
9- Capacity Building and Knowledge Management:
- Identify capacity-building needs for the field team and implement appropriate training and development initiatives.
- Capture lessons learned from monitoring and evaluation activities, and document success stories to inform project improvements and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to food security-related assessment missions, providing technical expertise and field-level insights.
Experience:
- Minimum 3-4 years of field-based experience in food security, humanitarian - assistance, or community development
- Proven track record in coordinating, supervising, and managing field teams
- Familiarity with food assistance distribution, needs assessments, and post-distribution monitoring
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and community liaison
Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of food security concepts and best practices.
- Proficiency in needs assessments, activity design, and implementation planning.
- Effective coordination and communication with WFP Marib Field Office.
- Skilled in supervising field teams and providing technical guidance.
- Competence in monitoring, evaluation, and data-driven reporting.
- Familiarity with community mobilization and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in documentation, knowledge management, and capacity building.
- Computer using skills specially Ms. Excel and Ms. Word.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in Arabic and English languages.
