This Saturday, April 24, the Regional Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs of Oxfam in the Middle East, Ms. Ruth James, visited the BCHR office in Marib governorate.
During the visit, the office director of the BCHR in Marib, Mr. Mohsen Al-Hadrami, welcomed Ms. Ruth James together with her accompanying delegation, appreciating the opening of an office for Oxfam in the city of Marib, which would facilitate the organization's interventions and communication with partners closely.
Al-Hadrami reviewed the most important projects and interventions of the BCHR in the fields of food, shelter, water, and livelihoods improvement, in Marib hub, which includes the governorates of Marib, Al-Jawf, Al-Bayda and Sana'a.
Al-Hadrami touched on the features of the humanitarian situation in Marib Governorate at the present time, within the continuing waves of displacement due to the continuous conflict on the edges of the governorate, and the high need for food, shelter and water.
The meeting discussed strengthening the future partnership between the BCHR and Oxfam, in a way that meets the needs of the IDPs and the affected people.
For his part, the director of the Emergency Response project implemented by the BCHR and funded by Oxfam, Mr. Omar Bahafs, presented a summary of the project progress, which targets more than 1,280 displaced families through unconditional cash support, reviewing proposals for future interventions in Marib Governorate.
In turn, Mrs. Ruth James expressed her happiness with the partnership between Oxfam and the BCHR, praising the ability of the Emergency Response project team to overcome challenges in the field.
In her visit, Ms. Ruth James was accompanied by Mr. Tefri Joshua, Acting Leader of the Emergency Response Team in Marib, Mr. Abdul Basit Al-Zaazai, Director of Supply at Oxfam's office in Aden, Ms. Rina Haytham, Gender Officer at the organization's office in Aden, and Ms. Bushra Hassan, Public Health Officer of the office, and from the head office of the BCHR Eng. Rabie Badaam.
