Background:

BCHR is a leading national non-governmental humanitarian agency with a global mission to alleviate suffering, poverty and oppression by helping people build secure, productive and just communities. BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.BCHR seeks to enhance coordination and collaboration at the district level for effective project implementation.
Job Summary:
The District Coordinator will oversee project activities in the district, ensuring alignment with BCHR objectives.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Coordinate project activities with local authorities and community stakeholders.
• Monitor project implementation and provide feedback to the project team.
• Facilitate training and capacity-building initiatives for local partners.
• Prepare regular reports on project progress and challenges.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.
• Community Mobilization and Awareness: Facilitate community engagement and awareness regarding the school feeding program, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the program's objectives and operations.
• Act as a vital link between project management, local authorities, and beneficiaries, ensuring effective communication and coordination throughout the program.
• Inform project stakholders start and end dates, while coordinating with local authorities and the project team to ensure smooth operations.
• Educate communities on the complaint mechanisms for both the BCHR and WFP, and assist beneficiaries in submitting feedback and complaints.
• Address and resolve any community conflicts or issues that arise during the implementation of the program, fostering a collaborative environment.
• Distribute and collect project documentation from the field teams, and submit comprehensive reports to project management for archiving and analysis.
• Collaborate with the M&E team to analyze data, verify complaints, and report results to enhance program effectiveness and ensure necessary adjustments are made.
• Continuously monitor the program's impact, supporting decision-making and promoting learning by documenting best practices and evaluating progress against established indicators.
• Organize and conduct training workshops for community committees and local stakeholders, clarifying project objectives, targeting mechanisms, and registration processes.
• Ensure community involvement at all project phases, promoting ownership and participation in the school feeding program.
• Maintain detailed weekly and monthly work plans to ensure that program activities align with the overall timeline and objectives.
• Conduct regular field visits to oversee the implementation of activities, providing technical support and ensuring compliance with project and organizational policies.
• Prepare and submit high-quality reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) detailing project progress, challenges, and achievements, while providing regular feedback to the project team.
• Ensure a safe and respectful working environment for all individuals involved in the project, adhering to ethical standards while engaging with beneficiaries.
• Carry out any other tasks as assigned by the project management to support the successful implementation of the school feeding program.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in management, social sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in project coordination.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and Arabic.
