Background

BCHR is a non-profit and non-governmental organization aiming to provide health, nutrition, food security and protection services as a humanitarian response to the escalating socio-economic situation in Yemen since 2015.
Position Objective
• To provide day-to-day logistical support to ensure the timely and efficient receipt, storage, transportation, and delivery of food commodities and project materials to targeted schools.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the receipt and verification of food commodities and supplies.
• Assist in checking quantities, condition, and supporting documentation.
• Support proper storage and organization of food commodities.
• Follow up on transportation and delivery schedules to schools.
• Support the distribution and handover of commodities to targeted schools.
• Maintain and organize logistics records and delivery documents.
• Follow up on stock movement and report shortages, damage, or discrepancies.
• Coordinate with schools regarding delivery and collection arrangements.
• Support procurement and supply of locally sourced products, including vegetables from local farmers in Tarim District.
• Report logistical challenges to the Logistic Supervisor.
• Perform other logistics-related duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Skills
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, or distribution.
• Previous experience with humanitarian or development projects is an advantage.
• Good understanding of receiving, storage, transportation, and distribution procedures.
• Good organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to work in the field and travel between targeted schools.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and under pressure.
