This Wednesday, BCHR launched food assistance for October cycle in Hajer District, Hadhramaut Governorate, within the Food Security project in the Yemeni governorates funded by K.S.Relief.
During the inauguration, the Assistant Undersecretary of Hadhramaut Governorate, Fahmi Badhawi, praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support in the recovery of the Yemeni people by providing various humanitarian assistance in a number of humanitarian fields.
In addition, he stressed that the continuous relief intervention through the Food Security project will have a great impact on the targeted families in the districts of Hajer and Al-Abr in Hadhramaut governorate, in light of the difficult living conditions that the country undergoes.
For his part, a member of the Urgent Relief at K.S.Relief, Mr. Bashir Al-Sharari, explained that the project targets 15 Yemeni governorates, and includes the distribution of more than 30,000 food baskets in each distribution cycle, which lasts for a whole year for the most vulnerable groups, with 252,552 beneficiaries from groups that suffer acute food insecurity.
For his part, the Director General of Hajer district, Mr. Omar Badbian, welcomed the K.S.Relief delegate coming from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, praising the support provided by the center, which will relieve the people of the district, whose residents suffer as a result of the disasters that caused many residents to lose their sources of income.
The project periodically targets 1250 food baskets in Hajer district.
The inauguration was attended by Mr. Nasser Al-Subaie, Deputy Director of Urgent Relief at K.S.Relief, Fahmi bin Mansour, Executive Director of the BCHR, and Mr. Salem Al-Saqqaf, Director of Urgent Relief at the Center's office in Al-Mahra.
