The Secretary of the Local Council of Al-Mahra Governorate, Mr. Salem Abdullah Nimer, inaugurated three fisheries projects as part of the FuTuRe project, funded by BMZ in partnership with WFP, and implemented by BCHR.
The projects included a fish landing center, a boat services center, and a fish and vegetable market, in addition to a water tank construction project.
The project aims to empower fishermen by providing sustainable job opportunities that increase their income and contribute to self-sufficiency, reducing reliance on assistance.
The inauguration was attended by the Head of the General Authority for Fisheries, Eng. Abdul Nasser Kalshat; the Director General of Qishn District, Sheikh Faisal Ahmed Hazem; the Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Office, Mr. Ali Salem Muhaisin; the Secretary of Local Council of Qishn, Salem Afrar; the Deputy Project Manager, Mr. Ahmed Hedijan; and the Head of Office in Al-Mahra branch, Mr. Ayman bin Mazyun.
