This Wednesday, the BCHR distributed hygiene kits to those affected by the floods in Hajer district, as part of the Emergency Response project funded by UNICEF.
The intervention included distributing 1000 hygiene kits containing personal hygiene materials and urgent health needs for the affected families, in order to protect them from epidemics and diseases, in light of the spread of water swamps due to rain and floods.
A number of beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with this assistance, which would enhance the prevention from diseases and epidemics.
In this context, the BCHR's field teams began a field survey to identify urgent needs in the water sector in the areas most affected by the floods.
The floods that Hajer witnessed last Sunday, caused dozens of families to flee their homes, and caused great damage to the infrastructure.
The distribution was attended by the chairman of the Relief Committee of the district, Mr. Magdi Barheiba, the vice chairman of the committee, Muhammad Al-Shadli, the two social figures Mahmoud Baras and Ahmed Khamis Obaid, the project's logistical assistant, Abdul Qawi Bajabir, and Hadhramout Coast coordinator, Hisham bin Nabhan.
