BCHR launches the Emergency Response project for the flood-affect people in Tarim District

This Tuesday, The BCHR launched the Emergency Response project for those affected by the floods in Tarim District, Hadramout Governorate, funded by UNICEF.
The inauguration was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in the Valley and the Desert, Dr. Abdullah Bajeham, the OCHA coordinator in Hadramout, Mr. Niazi bin Salman, the Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office of Tarim District, Mr. Muhammad Bashaib, and the Director of the Food Security Project if the BCHR, Mr. Omar Makarem .
The project includes distributing 200 hygiene kits, containing personal hygiene materials and urgent health needs for the affected families, in order to protect them from disease and epidemics, in light of the spread of water swamps due to rain and floods.
Within this context, the BCHR's field teams began the field survey identifying the urgent needs in environmental sanitation for those affected by the floods.
On the sidelines of the inauguration, the BCHR 's field team, accompanied by the Director General of Tarim district, Judge Khaled Howeidi, and the OCHA coordinator, Niazi bin Salman, were briefed on the level of damage caused by the flood disaster in Aideed.
The floods that Tarim witnessed last Sunday, killed 5 people and caused damage to 177 homes and massive damage to the infrastructure.
