This Thursday the BCHR continued to disburse cash assistance to the IDPs in Marib Governorate, as part of the Emergency Response project funded by Oxfam.
The Emergency Response project aims to save the lives of conflict-affected communities in Marib Governorate, through distributing unconditional cash assistance to the IDPs in order to meet their basic needs.
The project will benefit 1282 displaced families, 7,680 beneficiaries, in the camps of Al-Khair, Al-Dashoush, Aidat Al-Ra', Al-Tawasul, and Al-Sweida .
A number of beneficiaries expressed their satisfaction with this intervention, which would reduce their suffering in light of the difficult circumstances they are going through due to the repeated displacement from the conflict areas.
The cash assistance process was reviewed by Ms. Judith Maniguh, Oxfam's Financial Director, Aden Office, and Mr. Muhammad Al-Saeedi, Food Coordinator at the Executive Unit for the Management of IDPs' Camps in Marib, praising the level of coordination and smooth distribution of aid to beneficiaries.
The intervention coincides with the month of Ramadan, in which the demand for food commodities increases, which witnesses a rise in prices due to the collapse of the local currency, which burdens the poorest families.
